Except for the 10 position switch, I have all the parts.

Today I drilled the holes on the pvc pipe. Then I mounted brass screws and the c85 comb with silicon glue.

I wrapped the wire on the pipe and shaved off the insulation at each brass screw.

November 6

My 10 position switch arrived in the mail today. I looked at it very carefully and determined which connection post is the common. Kind of funny they just dont mark it to make it obvious. It looks ok. I came with a lock washer and lock nut.

I still need a couple slide switches.  I will need to connect the variable capacitor so that I can operate at two different ranges.  I will also to install a switch to go around the tuner.

I am looking around to find switches in other equipment.

Today I bought a toggle switch from Lowes.  I will install it to allow two ranges for the capacitor. My capacitor has 4 gangs so the switch will give the tuner some flexibility.

Dang thing does not work. Can only blame myself

 Well, I got it all put together and wired  up. So I connected it to my ts-520s to see how it goes. I did something wrong because it simply does not work. I need to carefully review the wiring to see if that could be the issue.  So far I am disappointed in the result but it sure seems like it should work.

I am accepting my antenna tuner construction project as a failure

 So I bought a MFJ-934 antenna tuner.  I am trying to figure out how to connect it up. Seems to be rather complicated. I ordered one from a company in Texas. At first they seemed to be giving me the run around. Then I checked the reviews. The company was not MFJ, it was some kind of two bit retailer. Anyhow, they finally shipped it. Anyhow I got it.  Now to figure out how to run it.
